Watch Battery Replacement

If your watch has stopped telling the right time or got stuck at same position, it obviously means there’s something wrong. Most probably it’s time to replace the battery. But wait! Check before whether the watch is automatic. Because automatic watches do not run on battery. In case you do not have the automatic watch, change the battery. Generally, batteries get bad after some time, causing the watch to run slower. Scientists are working on the technologies to enhance the life of the batteries, but meanwhile, we have to be aware about the tactic to replace the battery of a watch:

Step 1. Place the watch on a clean piece of cloth facing down.

Step 2. Remove the cover. Remember, different watches have different ways to get opened. Check whether if its a snap on or else. Find the little notches on the watch. Using a screwdriver, rotate it counterclockwise. You can try other methods as well. But its very important to stay alert, as a moment of carelessness can ruin your efforts.

Step 3. Carefully take out the gasket. Keep it aside for reassembling.

Step 4. Locate the battery. The battery is a shiny metallic spherical body in the watch. Generally batteries come out with a gentle pat. In case, the battery is fixed, use a screwdriver to remove it.

Step 5. Identify the type of the battery. This is one of the most important steps of the process. Make sure you replace the battery with the right one.

Step 6. Place the new battery in the place of the old battery.

Step 7. Reassemble the watch.
